So, I decided my blog needed a little facelift! Over the past few days I've made a lot of changes! The biggest being the name of my blog. I changed it to "sounds like life to me" and I posted the song that it refers to. I really like that phrase because it reminds that life isn't perfect and that bad things happen!
I feel like that's what my blog is about: life and it's adventures and more specifically my adventures as a newlywed and the responsibilities and emotions that come with it!

My 23rd Birthday
Yesterday was my 23rd birthday and it was great! Matt and my family made a special day! Matt and I went shopping (he said we could do whatever I wanted!) and then relaxed during the day. That night both our families went to eat and then have cake and open presents at my parent's house. We also caught the last 1/2 of the Razorback game!
It was great to be with both of our families (we don't do that enough!) and have an evening together. It was a fun night! Matt ordered me a beautiful cake! He surprised me with the design and he ordered red roses on it! He knows roses are my favorite (for anything: art, flowers, tattoo, decor, etc.)! He was so sweet all day!
It was a great birthday... but I really am starting to feel old! I don't "feel" old I just think I'm starting to sound old! Oh well! Here's a few pics from the night!

Discipline
I wanted to give a quick update on my weight loss... I've lost another 4 lbs! Which makes a total of 25.5 lbs since April! I'm so excited!! I never thought I'd lose this much!
Kitty commented on my previous post asking how I've done it! Well Kitty... discipline!! I've literally had to change ALL of my eating/lifestyle habits and my total outlook on food! I eat less, workout every weekday (and usually Saturdays as well), sleep 8 hours a night, and drink more water (and Crystal Light which tastes better!). None of these changes came easy! But I knew if I didn't do them that I'd continue to be overweight and I'm only 23! I had to make a huge change!
When I started this I knew that I would still have cravings for sweets and if they were bad enough that I would give in. So, I found some low fat and sugar-free ice cream bars, sandwiches and popsicles. They taste like normal ice cream but they're not as bad for you! We keep them in the freezer all the time because eating one of those when I have a craving is better than driving down to Sonic and getting a huge milkshake!

Emma's Birthday
Emma turned 15 on Sunday and I forgot to post about it! So sorry Emma!! It was on Labor Day- we went over and dad cooked out hamburgers and we just hung out, opened presents and played games! Here she is opening a card!

Weekend
This past weekend Matt went on a golfing trip to Kansas with a few of his good friends. So, I took the advantage of doing some fun things with friends!
My birthday is next Saturday, the 19th. So some of my friends took me to eat on Friday night and then went to Cajun's for a few drinks! It was a lot of fun and I'm so happy to have wonderful friends! This is a picture of me and my neighbor, Marla! She is so sweet!
Here's all of us: Marla, Emily, me and Missy! Truly amazing friends! I am so blessed!!
Saturday I got a lot of stuff done around the house. Mostly cleaning up and some little projects that I've wanted to do like cleaning out our junky cabinet and redo a few paintings! I have enjoyed some "me" time! Later that afternoon I went to a coworker's bridal shower and then off to the mall for a bit of retail therapy! I am so excited because I found a dress to wear to one of our friend's weddings in November- Matt is a groomsmen! I had been looking for a dress and so glad I finally found one! Later that night me, mom and Emma hung out! We had pizza and watched a chick flick! I love them!

This morning I slept in a little bit and now I'm trying to get things extra clean and finish up some last minute paintings before Matt comes home! He will be home soon and I'm so excited! I hate Matt being gone but I love it when it's time for him to come home!

Travs Game

Razorback Fever!
And when I say fever I literally mean it! We were sweating!!
Today we tailgated and went to the Razorback game in town! You'll never believe how early we got there... 8:30am for a 6pm game!! Since the tailgating spots are first come first serve- you have to get there early to get a good spot! And we got a great spot! It was so much fun! We had a lot of family and friends there and wasted the day away eating, talking, playing games and just having fun!
It rained for about an hour and we all piled in the car and waited it out. Once that was over it was great and then really hot and humid! But much fun was had by all and the Razorbacks won!!
P.S. The next LR game is in November and we all voted that we're going in and buying a big tent!! That's def the way to go!

Early Mornings II
Just wanted to update yall on my weight loss! To date I've lost 21.5 lbs and I'm feeling great! I've had to buy some new clothes so I won't look ridiculous in my old ones! Getting up and working out is still hard but I'm still doing it every morning! I feel a lot better after I work out and ready to start the day! I have a lot more energy, I'm stronger, more flexible and am in an overall better mood!
I'm not stopping now... I still want to lose another 16 lbs!!

Matt and I have BIG tailgating plans for the weekend! It's the first Razorback game and it's in Little Rock! But there's a 60% chance on rain on Saturday! Nooo!!!!
