Snow Storm

Well, Christmas got cut just a little short this year! We got hit with a huge snow storm that took out our power (and about 250,000 other homes!) and iced over our roads for 3 days! Christmas day we went home around 5pm so wouldn't get stuck on the roads. Around 9:45pm that night, we lost our power and it didn't come back on until Friday around 5pm!! We spent the first night at home and slept with no electricity (which was so hard to do with all that silence!) and it was horrible! We were freezing cold and all we kept hearing were the trees falling in our backyard! Trees fell on our fence and on our power lines! It wasn't pretty... and still isn't!

Thankfully, for the 3 days that our power was out we were able to stay with Matt's grandmother who did have power! We were so thankful for her hospitality because we didn't have anywhere else to go because no one else in our family had power either! For those few days we ate too much, slept in and watched movies in Granna's warm house!

We finally got to go home on Friday and it felt so good to be home! Matt and I were running around like crazy getting stuff done! There was tons of laundry to be done and the house needed to be cleaned as well!

Matt went hunting this weekend and killed 2 does!

This will replace all the meat we had to throw out!!

That's all I got for now! I went back to work today after all the holidays and I'm already tired!!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day was jam packed this year!
First, we all woke up and let Ryan open his Santa presents first thing! He loved them! He was so excited and in such a good mood!

 After that we went to my parents house where Ryan opened even more presents!!

We stayed until early afternoon and then we went to spend time with Matt's family! Unfortunately, we weren't there for long due to the stupid storm, but we got a few pics!

 We had a great Christmas this year! Matt and I are so incredibly blessed! This year we have learned that the Lord provides at all times and that we have amazing family and friends! 2012 was a great year and brought us many blessings :)

Christmas Eve

Every Christmas Eve (or sometimes Christmas Eve Eve) we got to my mother-in-law's house for dinner and presents in our pajamas! I love this tradition! We had a great time this year and Ryan got so many presents! He loved opening all of them and playing with his new toys!

 Matt and I have a Christmas Eve tradition that we do every year and we were excited  to do it with Ryan this year! We give each other new Christmas pajamas and wear them on Christmas night! It was fun doing this with Ryan this year! We each gave him a pair:

Makin' Christmas Memories!!

 I love making memories- especially Christmas memories!! And of course it's even more fun with Ryan!! We are having an amazing first Christmas for Ryan and just soaking up every minute!
Last night we spent time with my family watching Christmas movies and decorating cookies for Santa! Ryan was asleep for most of it... but that's ok! I had fun decorating for him!!

Well, that's all I got today! I'm off to hang out at my mother-in-law's house for a little bit and have our Christmas with her tonight! I love this time of the year spent with family! Merry Christmas!!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Well folks, it's that time of the year! My favorite time of the year! CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!! Everybody freak out! I know I am!! I'm trying to soak it all in because every year it goes too fast and this year is a very special one :)
Here's my lil Christmas angel wearing Daddy's hat! And guess where we are?? The allergist. Blah!

 Long story short: last week we found out that Ryan is allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts and pet dander! He drinks milk-based formula and we have 2 dogs! Great!
After 3 doctors visits he is now drinking soy formula, washing his clothes in hypoallergenic detergent, using a steroid cream for his eczema, and giving him prescription allergy medicine at night along with an array hypoallergenic lotions and washes! Geez! He's more high maintenance than me... almost :)

So, that was the excitement last week! This past weekend we finally decorated the tree! It's been up for a few weeks but we just hadn't had a chance to actually decorate it! I wanted Ryan to be apart of it and finding a time when he wasn't sleeping or eating is rare!

Sunday night we had our annual Christmas dinner at church! We get dressed up and have a great time eating, enjoying each other's company and a short program! Ryan did so good!
